Tanya Kim

Master of Ceremony, TV Personality & Dog Advocate

Tanya Kim is widely recognized as more than just one of Canada’s most familiar television personalities. Raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Tanya’s passion extends beyond entertainment and celebrity culture. Classically trained as a pianist and dancer, this Broadcast Journalism graduate started her TV career at MuchMusic. She went on to become the music reporter for CTV’s "The Chatroom" and then the special correspondent for the first two seasons of "Canadian Idol", reporting on music and style.

Tanya’s former role as Co-Anchor at ETALK gave her a slew of exciting opportunities, including hosting red carpets at the Academy Awards, Juno Awards, Grammy Awards, and reporting backstage with the artists at Live 8 Canada. In July 2007, Tanya reported live from London during both the Concert for Diana and Live Earth. In February 2010, Tanya had the opportunity to report from the Vancouver 2012 Olympic Winter Games for CTV as well as for Olympic Morning.

In 2005, TV Guide included Tanya on a list of “Canada’s Top 10 newcomers on the verge of a major breakout.” She also received two Toronto Sun Readers Choice Awards for Entertainment TV Reporter. Additionally, Tanya is credited in the film and television worlds making appearances in "Puppets Who Kill", "Degrassi: The Next Generation", "Instant Star", and "Glitter".

Recognizing the importance of philanthropy, Tanya supports charities that are close to her heart. Tanya is a passionate dog advocate and shares her love and support for animals as an ambassador for the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA). She is also the Honourary Chair for the OSPCA‘s Friends For Life! Walk in Toronto, Ontario, which is a provincial program by the OSPCA designed to raise funds and awareness for the protection and care of all animals in Ontario. In November 2008, she traveled to Zambia as national spokesperson for CARE Canada to help launch their “I Am Powerful”

Musical Performance

The Marc Joseph Band has risen to one of Toronto’s top cover bands on the scene and are a rare group of charismatic, passionate, energetic and professional musicians, with personalities that shine both on and off the stage. Few bands have been able to keep up with their 5 star rating and MJB is unlike any other band you've ever seen. They are masters of their craft who pour their hearts and souls into every performance, while keeping the dance floor alive!!

MJB has been performing together as a full time band for 10+ years with over 200+ shows a year across North America and Internationally for Corporate Events, Weddings, Casinos, Festivals, Cruises, Private Events and more. They have an original album entitled” “Breathe” and perform all genres of music, while continuously developing their artistry, stage show, and musical ability at a rate that most acts can’t fathom. With the energy MJB unveils, they have often been referred to as “Lightning in a Bottle”.

Ethan Young is a 14 yr old who has been performing professionally since he was 9. You might recognize him as the youngest winner of The Launch Season 1. He will be releasing a single this year with Big Machine Label Group.

Bree Taylor has established herself as a must-watch artist on the rise. Born to sing and entertain, she has been performing since the age of six participating in her school choir. Trained by A-List Vocal Coach, Bob Garrett (Pavarotti, Audrey Hepburn, and Donna Summer), Bree hit the Canadian music scene with her first single and music video, Broken Dreams in September 2016 and has been impressing fans one single at a time since. Bree wrote and recorded her debut EP Unbreakable in Los Angeles, California which was released in the Summer of 2018 followed by a 12-city Canada wide tour. Her most recent single The Feeling was deemed the perfect song for the summer.

FARRAH ZOROWSKI | Supervisor, Toronto Animal Services North 

Guest Speaker

Farrah is a passionate animal advocate, working to improve access to veterinary care in Toronto and across Canada. At the age of 16, she began her career as a veterinary technician, eventually completing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph and then a post-secondary certification in Veterinary Practice Management though Olds College. As the Manager of Public Veterinary Services at the Toronto Humane Society, Farrah oversaw initiatives including the high volume spay/neuter clinic, trap-neuter-release for feral cats, and a public call centre. Through her work on the Feral Cat Coalition, she promoted a joint approach to addressing Toronto’s feral cat population with other rescues and non-profits. Farrah administered THS’s Northern Dog Program, which provides spay/neuter and vaccination services to remote northern communities. During three trips to the north, she has witnessed the growing need for accessible veterinary services and rescue support in Ontario's remote communities. Farrah is currently the Supervisor for Toronto Animal Services North Shelter.

With your support, TEAM Dog Rescue will be able to continue its mission to provide education and outreach in the community, emergency medical services for dogs in crisis, to provide safe shelter for abandoned senior dogs, and strong adoption programs to ensure that every homeless dog lives in a safe and loving home.
